Assoc. Prof. Can B. Aktaş's application to the TÜBİTAK Scientific Conversations program was accepted. Dr. Aktaş lectured a seminar titled "Climate Change and Its Effects" within the scope of the program at Ankara / Ayaş Çanıllı Middle School on November 22, 2023. A thematic meeting regarding R&D project activities was held during a visit by a delegation from TEDU Faculty of Engineering to BVS Bülbüloğlu Crane Industry firm on 14.11.2023 within the scope of university-industry partnership. Project development activities, applied 3-D virtual reality training, national and international academic publication opportunities were discussed during the meeting.
The project titled "Cross Border RISk assessment for increased prevention and preparedness in Europe: way forward (BORIS 2)" has been funded by the European Commission under the call of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The project has a budget of €1 million and will run for 24 months. The project stakeholders are from five countries: Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Turkey, and Montenegro. There are 11 organizations involved in the project, TED University being the only partner from Turkey. The project team is led by Prof. Dr.
TEDU Faculty of Engineering 2023 Excellence Awards were presented to awardee faculty by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Dr. Selin Aradağ Çelebioğlu. Assoc. Dr. Muhsin Caner Gökçe has been awarded the Publication Performance Award, Asst. Prof. Kutluk Bilge Arıkan has been awarded the Excellence in Research Award, Assoc. Dr. Yiğit Taşçıoğlu, Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Rüştü Taner, and Assoc. Dr. Can Baran Aktaş were awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award. We congratulate our faculty members and wish them continued success.

Following the devastating earthquakes affecting 11 cities in southeastern Turkey in February, a fieldwork project entitled “Damage Assessment Study on the Building Retrofitted in 2009” was conducted by our faculty members by Assoc. Profs. Rıza Secer Orkun, Can Baran Aktaş, Cem Akgüner, and Research Assistant Mehmet Fırat Aydın. The project realized in Antakya, Hatay, between March 2nd and 4th, 2023, was supported by TÜBİTAK 1002-C Emergency Support Program for Reconnaissance Study Focusing on Natural Disasters Program.

COST’s governing board, the Committee of Senior Officials (CSO), confirmed the funding of new EU COST Action “CA21104 - Pan-European Network for Sustainable Hydropower”, one of the proposers of which is Prof. Dr. Selin Aradag from TEDU Department of Mechanical Engineering. The project comprises researchers from 37 countries. It will continue for four years starting in Autumn 2022.
